Prism District Beauty was founded in 2020 out of a profound passion for helping individuals achieve their beauty aspirations. Deffanie Rawls, who embarked on her beauty journey at the age of 13, envisioned a brand that would serve as a symbol of inclusivity and empowerment in the global beauty community.

Starting with hair braiding, Deffanie quickly discovered her talent for promoting women's hair health through protective styles and the use of top-tier ingredients. Her dedication to learning and serving others flourished during her time in the U.S. Air Force, where she refined her hairstyling skills both at home and abroad. Concurrently, she pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Masters of Business Administration and Doctorate of Organizational Leadership , which expanded her knowledge base and skill set.

With over three decades of experience in the industry, Deffanie has been steadfast in educating clients and nurturing positive relationships, particularly focusing on the unique needs of women of color in hair and beauty care. Motivated by her passion for service and driven by client demand, she embarked on developing her own line of beauty products. The overwhelming response from her clients inspired the launch of Prism District Beauty, a brand dedicated to providing trusted and effective beauty solutions for all.
